How Journie Rewards fueled a trip across Canada from Calgary, Alberta to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
From the Rocky Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean, Journie Rewards helped to make a trip across Canada more rewarding with fuel discounts, road trip snacks and even helping the environment.
On each leg of the journey, through Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and finally Nova Scotia, I scouted out locations and planned out our route to get the most out of each fill-up.
Thanks to Parkland’s large retail fuel network, it was easy to use the Journie Rewards app to look for the next stop and find a familiar place to fuel up. In total, I travelled more than 4,800 kilometers which needed about 380 litres of fuel. But thanks to our Rewards, I saved between 5 cents to 13 cents a litre in fuel costs, snacked on tasty treats and even offset a portion of the trip thanks to a carbon offset reward.
An early morning start created an eerie mood as I filled up at Chevron in Calgary. Let the points collecting start!
We cruised along the TransCanada Highway and made our first stop at FasGas in Swift Current.
While in town, we hit up an M&M to pick up the ultimate road trip snack – sausage!
Another early start as I left Brandon, Manitoba and made my way to the next fill up in Portage La Prairie.
Cruising out of Manitoba and into Ontario – I again was happy to see my first Pioneer in Timmons.
Thankfully this Ultramar popped up in Quebec as we rounded the bend – this was a long stretch without many towns and I was counting every kilometre to get to this pit stop.
Another friendly Ultramar and Marche Express in Trois Rivieres and another early morning start.
The final fuel up in Quebec before heading into the Martimes and being welcomed by New Brunswick.
A fill-up in Moncton and I cashed in my ON the RUN all of the snack rewards– a well-deserved treat!
The last fill up once I arrived in Halifax! It was quite the journey – made even better more rewarding thanks to Journie Rewards.
